scholarships change lives

 

The joseph congelosi and huda badr memorial scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior at Plattsburgh high school.

 

Joe and Huda, though very different, shared an openness to new ideas, people, and cultures. Huda was best known for her energy and dynamic sense of humor, and Joe for his unabashed friendliness and optimism. The goal of this scholarship is to support an educational and cultural experience, focused on domestic or international travel, for a student who embodies the kind and compassionate spirit Joe and Huda shared.

 

The scholarship seeks to support students whose greatest accomplishments are not in the classroom, but in the quality of the relationships they build with all members of their school community, and the support they provide to their classmates. Special priority is given to students who are unlikely to receive scholarships based strictly on academic merit, and students of limited financial means. PHS faculty members will submit nominations for the scholarship.
